這幅畫是我最愛的一幅Edward Hopper的畫。第一次知道這個美國畫家還是在大學的時候，當時教建築史的一位教授特別喜歡Hopper的作品，因為Hopper有很多作品是描繪建築物的，所以教授有的時候還會把Hopper的畫拿到lecture上來講。Hopper的大部分畫面中都有人，但是人和人之間是隔膜冰冷的關係，或者處在一個半封閉的空間中，冷冰冰的色調和筆觸把大都市現代社會中人的孤獨、壓抑和迷茫很冷靜地展現出來了，有一種冷冷的詭異之感。
