1. It depends. There are old and new dorms. The foreign students are usually accommodated in the new dorms, which are about 15 minutes from the city centre by tram. In the new dorms there are single-people rooms, two-people rooms or three-people rooms. Foreigners usually get the single- or two-people rooms. The condition of the new dorms is quite good. They have broadband internet. Kitchen, shower and toilet are shared usually by two rooms. They have all the necessary shops around them, usually in the same building such as a post, grocery store or laundry. The old dorms can be bad, up to six-people rooms and two shower rooms and toilet rooms for one floor, but as I said they dont usually put foreigners in there. Actually, when you want to up for a dorm, you indicate which dorm and which type of room you are interested in.

2. You actually make your own timetable. Theres a point system ECTS, you got to have at least 60 points a year (though its safer to have a little more). One lecture that goes on for a year is usually worth 9 ECTS. Small classes for one semester are usually worth 4 to 7 ECTS. Obligatory subjects that go on for a year are worth around 11 ECTS. It is possible to arrange your classes so that you will have a free Friday. Winter holidays are between the first and second exam session and they last for a week, usually in February. There are also Christmas Holidays which begin on the day before Christmas Eve and end on the day after New Years Eve. As for Summer Holidays, they start usually at the end of June (when you pass your exams) and classes resume in October. However, some people take also exams at the beginning of September, if they didnt manage to take all the exams in May or June.

3. It can be quite dangerous, especially in the city centre and in the south of the city. There a lot of clubs there, so a lot of drunken people are on the streets, fighting, urinating, etc. Its quite a sad view to see the historic city demolished by uncouth people. There is also a major problem in those districts with football fanatics who are very racist and drunken English tourists.

4. I think the rates are different depending on which country you come from, so you will need to contact the university directly. I cant help you with this. The university offers scholarships, e.g. for accommodation, good grades, etc., however they are not very high.
