這樣做兩人又有負疚感，所以他們又想法讓羅斯租房遭拒。

菲比和她在莫妮卡餐廳遇到的衛生稽查員Larry約會。

此人不斷勒令營業場所停業整頓，菲比起初對他的權力傾倒不已，但隨後發現吃飯的地方越來越少。

瑞秋認定丹尼為她鍾情，並認為他欲擒故縱只是想在關係中佔據上風而已。

5.07 The One Where Ross Moves In

Emilys cousin kicks Ross out of the apartment they were to live in, so he moves in with Chandler and Joey.

Ross is more than a little obnoxious(adj.不愉快的討人厭的), so Chandler and Joey pressure him to move to a new place... even if its tiny.

Their guilt gets the better of(v.打敗) them, however, and they arrange for(v.安排) Ross application to be rejected.

Phoebe dates a Larry, a health inspector she met at Monicas restaurant.

At first she is turned on(v.變得興奮) by his power to close places down, but soon realizes that theyre running out of good places to eat.

Rachel is convinced that(v.確信) Danny likes her and that his apparent apathy(n.冷漠) toward her is just a ploy(v.計謀計劃) to gain the upper hand(n.優勢) in their relationship.

[Scene: Central Perk, Chandler and Joey are there. Joey is looking at a National Geographic and giggling.]

The National Geographic Magazine：later shortened to National Geographic, is the official journal(n.定期刊物) of the National Geographic Society. It published its first issue in 1888, just nine months after the Society itself was founded. It has become one of the worlds best-known magazines and is immediately identifiable by the characteristic yellow border running around the edge of its cover.

Chandler: Are you looking at naked tribes women?

Ross: Well, when youre subletting an apartment from your wifes cousin and then you get a divorce, sometimes the cousin suddenly wants his apartment back.

Joey: Hey, you can stay with us! Well take care of ya!

You got it：大多說情況下是表示贊同的意思。基本上就是簡單的「好的」的意思。在別人要求你做一件事時，說「you got it" 其實指的是我知道了，我會做的意思。很口語化說法。

Joey: Okay.

Ross: Thanks you guys, I really appreciate this. All right, Im gonna get packing again. Man, Ive been moving around so much Im beginning to feel like a nomad.

knock yourself out: is to go for it or to do as much as you want without anyone『s permission，非常地道的美語表達。如果有天你去美國朋友家裡做客，或者去參加一個美國朋友舉行的宴會，當他們對你說「Knock yourself out」的時候，你可不要認變他們的意思是要你自己打自己一拳喔！knock yourself out是一個片語，意思是「隨便點、不必客氣」，包含的意思是「你可以盡情地玩，作任何你想作的事情,把這裡當成自己的家一樣, 不必客氣」。如：A: Could you give my your pencil for a while? Larry: Ahh thats the 2 points.

Phoebe: Hey, you should really read that book you wrote. (To Larry) Wow! You saw the hat in the kitchen and knew that shed have to go in there hatless to get it. You can have your own health inspector detective show!

Monica: Hes not great umm, but hes dealing with it. Oh wait a minute, youre not gonna try…

Rachel: Oh, honey, please, no, I cant get started with all that Ross stuff again. I mean, hes gonna screwed up for a looong time. And besides yknow, I dont, I dont go for guys right after they get divorced.

(Danny enters.)

Danny: (To Gunther) Two pounds of Moca Java please.

Monica: (To Monica) Danny. Are you guys ever gonna go out again?

Rachel: I dont know! He hasnt called me since that one time when we went out. I see him in the hallway, we flirt, Im all ha-ha-ha-ha, and nothing.

Danny: (To them) Hey!

Rachel: Hi Danny! (Notices his box of liquor hes carrying.) Wow! Thirsty huh?

Danny: Uh, actually, actually, Im having a party at my place on Saturday, its sort of a house warming kind of thing.

A housewarming party：is a party held on the occasion of moving into a new residence. It is an occasion for the hosts to present their new home to their friends, and sometimes for friends to give gifts to furnish the new home. Housewarming parties are generally informal; usually there are no planned activities besides a possible tour.(搬新居後，邀請朋友來開新居開派對暖房)

Monica: Ohh, fun!

Rachel: Ohh, great!

Danny: Yeah, Im really looking forward to it.

Rachel: Yeah.

Danny: Okay, see ya. (Heads out.)

Monica: Well, I guess we wont be warming his house.

Rachel: (laughs) Okay. All right, I see what hes doing! Hes not asking me out, because he wants me to ask him out.

Monica: And youre not gonna do that.

Rachel: Thats right! Cause that would give him the control! So now hes all ooh, coming up with this whole Ive got a party thing yknow, trying to get me to hint around for an invitation. Blew up in his face, didnt it?

Joey: Not a problem. And listen, hey! Since youre gonna be here for a while, why dont—I was thinking we uh, put your name on the answering machine.

Chandler: Oh yeah!

Ross: Oh, I uh, hope you dont mind, I kinda uh, jazzed it up a little. Check this out. (He plays the greeting, and We Will Rock You starts to play and Rosss voice comes over it.) We will, we will, call you back!

jazz <俚>唬人之談空話胡扯/"We Will Rock You"：is a song written by Brian May, and recorded and performed by Queen. One version was used as the opening track on their 1977 album News Of The World. This version consists of a stamping-clapping beat, and a power chorus(n.合唱), being somewhat of an anthem. When performed live, this version is usually followed by "We Are the Champions", another of the albums hits, as they were both made to lead into each other. It has since been used extensively at sporting events. The band also performed the song in another arrangement (known as the "fast version"), which featured a faster tempo(n.音樂的速度拍子) and a full guitar, bass and drums backing track throughout. The band would often open their live sets in the late 1970s with this version, as captured on their Live Killers double album.

Joey: Hey, all right!

Ross: Pretty cool, huh?

(They both laugh as Ross heads back to the bathroom.)

Joey: (To Chandler) Youre fake laughing too, right?

Chandler: Oh, the tears are real.

[Scene: A restaurant, Phoebe and Larry are having dinner.]

Larry: You look beautiful this evening.

Phoebe: (smiles) Show me the badge again.

(He looks around and flashes her his badge and she laughs.)

Phoebe: Shiny.

Larry: Oh, will you mind if I wash up? Because I came straight from work and who knows where these babies (Holds up his hands) have been.

(He goes to the bathroom and Phoebe puts some pepper and salt on her food. With the salt she takes a bit and throws it over her left shoulder as she faces us.)

Monica: Cant believe that Larry closed down Churmans. I love that place.

Phoebe：Yeah I know,You should have heard about all their violations.Larry said that they should call it Vermins. That guy just plans to kill me笑死我了.

Rachel: Yeah, but he waited until the last minute! So if I said yes, he would know I had nothing better to do than wait around for an invitation to his stupid party. I said, "No!" Which puts me right back in the driver seat.

[Scene: Chandler and Joeys and Rosss, Ross is working on his computer and Joey is making a lot of noise.]

Ross: (glaring at him) Joey, please! (Motions to his computer.)

Joey: Sorry.

(Joey starts playing with a toy alligator and has it attack him.)

(Notices Ross looking at him and stops. Ross gives him his quiet down maneuver. Okay, this may take a while to explain, so center this on you screen and place your hands about a foot apart with your fingers together and pointing straight up. Now take you fingers and point them at the other hand and making a 90-degree angle with each of your hands and the first knuckle counting up from the wrist. Now take your right hand, no your other right (that was for the dyslexics), and lower it a couple of inches, so that the fingers are pointing at your wrist. Now take your arms and keeping the elbows bent and your hands in front of you spread out your arms, kinda like making a birds wing. Now hunch your shoulders(=shrug) over and move you hands up and down as if you are trying to tell some one to turn it down. Thats Ross quiet down maneuver. Well, there is an accompanying face, but I dont want to try and describe it as well.)

Chandler: (entering) Hello children!

Joey: Hey! Wanna play some foosball? Please?

(They go into his bedroom.)

Joey: All right, I have one question. What is the deal with this? (Imitates Rosss quiet down maneuver, but does move his hands up and down he just flaps his hands as if hes waving good-bye.)

Joey: No, the quiet down thing!

Chandler: You mean this. (Does the maneuver perfectly.)

Joey: Um-hmm! Look, I-I-I dont know how much more of this I can take! Did you know he taped over my Baywatch tape with some show about bugs! My God! What if that had been porn?

Chandler: (gasps) All right look, yknow, this maybe tough but come on, this is Ross! I survived college with him!

Joey: All right, I guess I can hold out a little longer. Lets have a game.

Ross: (entering) Uh fellas, (Does the maneuver and gives them a double thumbs up, which Chandler returns as he closes the door.)

Joey: Um-hmm.

Commercial Break

[Scene: Monica and Rachels, Monica, Rachel, and Phoebe are there.]

Joey: (entering) Hey!

Monica: Hey!

Joey: You guys got anything to eat? I just went down to Johnos for some chicken and it was closed!

Phoebe: Oh, I took Larry there to eat but it was all violated. So we shut it down!

Joey: Pheebs, if this guy keeps closing down all of our favorite places, where are we gonna eat?!

Monica: I dont know, clean places?

Joey: Umm, yum!

(Theres a knock on the door and Monica answers it.)

Monica: (looking through the peephole) Its Danny.

Rachel: Dont let him in! Im supposed to be at a regatta gala.

Monica: (to Danny) Well be right there! (To Rachel) Cant you just say it starts later?

Rachel: What? What kind of a regatta gala starts at night?!

Monica: The fake kind!

(She opens the door and Rachel hides behind it.)

Danny: Hey, hi, I need a ladle. You got a ladle?

Monica: We have a ladle. (Gives him one.)

Danny: Thanks, see you at the party.

Monica: Okay, great!

(He leaves and she closes the door.)

Phoebe: Hey, you guys, you know what Larry would say? He would say, "See you ladle." (Laughs.)

[Scene: Central Perk, Chandler, Joey, and Ross are there. Chandler and Joey are looking through the paper.]

Ross: (looks) Oh yeah! Youre—hey, youre right! Heres an affordable place, (reading ad) two bedroom, close to work, ooh, its available in five weeks五周後才能入住!

Ross: Oh-oh-ooh, hey guys, I was wondering if you guys would uh, maybe chip in on some new air filters for the air purifier? I mean after all, we all are using it.

(They dont move, just look all around them.)

Ross: I think this is it. I dont know, maybe we should keep looking.

Joey: But hey, Ross, this place is available now!

Chandler: Yeah, you dont want to be stuck with us for the next five weeks.

Ross: All right, I see what you guys are saying. Ill uh, Ill go downstairs and fill out an application.

Larry: (entering) Hey, ready for dinner?

Phoebe: Ooh, absolutely!

Larry: Great! You wanted to go the Italian place down on Bleecker Street right?

Bleecker Street：is a famous street in New York Citys Manhattan borough(n.區). It is perhaps most famous today as a Greenwich Village night strip(n.夜店). The street is a spine(n.中心) that connects a neighborhood today popular for music venues and comedy, but was once a major center for American bohemia(n. 放蕩不羈的生活)/Bleecker Street：拉里漸漸變得討厭起來，他到什麼地方都要擺出一幅餐廳衛生檢查員的派頭。為了不讓自己喜歡的餐館被他關閉，當他提議去布利克街(Bleecker Street)的一家義大利餐館時，菲比說不去。布利克街是紐約的一個地名，在格林尼治村，離劇中老友們住的地方不遠。

Phoebe: Ooh, I love that place! (Thinks about it.) So, no.

Larry: How about Mama Lozettis?

Phoebe: Enh. Sure!

Larry: (notices something) I wonder how long that milk (on the counter) has been setting out.
